People in droves are leaving their jobs to find something better. You cannot go very far before you see a “We’re Hiring” sign. “The Great Resignation” is here and it’s affecting all of us in one way or another.

The pandemic had bought about a mass mindset shift of people wanting something more out of life and demanding a new way of earning a living.

Companies everywhere are scrambling to figure out how to cope with a mass exodus. Online influencers have courses and webinars to teach you how to do what I did and build your own online business. Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur, so they are making career changes.

This episode is the second of three where my friends and colleagues Genesis Eakes, Linda Guild, and I discuss how organizations, employees, and solopreneurs can navigate these new workplace waters. Each of us have our unique perspective of what we’re seeing and how it’s affecting the marketplace, our clients, and even our friends and families.

CEO of Genesis Eakes International, Genesis is a consultant who serves mission driven organizations and she’s seeing first hand the effects of what the pandemic has done to companies’ culture and the havoc it has been on production.

Linda is the founder of TAPP, the Talented Alliance of Part-time Professionals. She sees how thinking of creative work schedules through the lens of part-time employment solutions helps fill gaps for many.

My perspective is one from leaving the corporate world because I wanted something different out of life. I wanted to earn a living where I could create a lifestyle of more freedom of schedule and travel.

In today’s episode, Linda mentions how better communication must be #1 in this change. Both as employers and employees, it’s the responsibility of both parties to convey our ideas, while at the same time listening and receiving the others’ perspective.

Genesis shares how teams are stretched to the limit. Employers can’t do things the way they’ve always done.

Gaining different perspectives on the subject can help you craft your dream lifestyle.

Enjoy!
