“The Great Resignation” is here. People in droves are leaving their jobs to find something better.

According to an Inc. article:

“… during the months of April, May, and June 2021, a total of 11.5 million workers quit their jobs. Recent studies indicate that it's likely not over. A survey of over 30,000 workers conducted by Microsoft found that 41 percent are considering quitting; that number jumps to 54 percent when Gen-Z is considered alone. Gallup found that 48 percent of employees are actively searching for new opportunities. And Persio reported that 38 percent of those they surveyed planned to make a change in the next six months.”

I believe that we all can earn a living that gives us the freedom to create the lifestyle of our dreams. Everyone’s vision of what their dream lifestyle is different.

Back in 2011, my dream was to leave a career where I felt stifled to create a business where I could have the flexibility in schedule and freedom to work from anywhere. I wanted to craft a living in such a manner to travel in a way that most people put off until retirement, and then often never getting around to it.

The Great Resignation phenomena is affecting the economy and our lives in many ways. It’s interesting what is going on in the marketplace.

The pandemic had bought about a mass mindset shift of people wanting something more out of life and demanding a new way of earning a living.

Companies everywhere are scrambling to figure out how to cope with a mass exodus. Online influencers have courses and webinars to teach you how to do what I did and build your own online business. Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur, so they are making career changes.

The subject got my friends and colleagues Genesis Eakes and Linda Guild talking last week. We all have our unique perspective of what we’re seeing and how it’s affecting the marketplace, our clients, and even our friends and families.

CEO of Genesis Eakes International, Genesis is a consultant who serves mission driven organizations and she’s seeing firsthand the effects of what the pandemic has done to companies’ culture and the havoc it has been on production.

Linda is the founder of TAPP, the Talented Alliance of Part-time Professionals. She sees how thinking of creative work schedules through the lens of part-time employment solutions helps fill gaps for many.

My perspective is one from leaving corporate world to create a business.

In this episode, you hear Genesis sharing her perspective of what the overall mood or mindset of the workforce. Linda shares great food for thought about both employee mindset shifts and openness from companies to embrace different work scenarios

Gaining different perspectives on the subject can help you craft your dream lifestyle.
