Over the years, by helping coaches, consultants, online educators, and other small business owners by being their extra set of hands in their marketing efforts, I’ve seen what makes up a solid marketing foundation.

In today’s episode, I share what I’ve learned and wish I knew when I first opened Scrivener Solutions.

Marketing doesn’t have to be salesy and uncomfortable.

Being a small business owner is wonderful. You have the opportunity to connect and build relationships in a way that will make your work meaningful and fun. You make real connections.

Connecting with people face-to-face is always preferred. And that may be very well where you start. But there’s only one of you, many people to help, and only so many hours in the day.

How to get more done in less time.

How do you leverage your time and increase your influence in your market? The answer is simple really.

Build a strong marketing foundation. You will save time and money in the long run by developing your systems in learning more about communicating with your ideal customer. Over time, you’ll discover tasks that you would want to delegate, giving you more time to build your business, all the while strengthening your foundation of communication.

Your marketing foundation consists of four parts.

  • Your website
  • Your consistent content
  • Your email strategy
  • Your social media plan

Keep it simple.

If I only knew what I know now that creating a marketing foundation doesn’t have to be flashy or complicated. Before clouding your mind with worries of SEO or sales funnels, concentrate on your foundation. It makes all other marketing efforts a whole lot easier.

Cutting through all the hype of everything you hear out there about marketing, it all boils down to genuinely connecting and communicating with those you serve. All the communication you do consistency through your website, with your content, and sending out emails and posting on social is the secret and the foundation to all other marketing you may want to do.

If you are confused about connecting all the dots of what I’ve covered today, be sure to subscribe to this podcast. I truly believe that you will accomplish more and scale your business, but in order to do so, you need to get a handle on developing your strong marketing foundation.

I’m going to share secrets and strategies over the next several weeks.
